The Eleanor Boling came up to Dunedin from Port Chalmers this morning, and occupied the 1 berth vacated by the City of New York, to load stores and apparatus lor the .Byrd • Antarctic expedition at the fee Barrier.^ The- Corinna is to leave 'Wellington on Thursday next for Dunedin, She will load at this port about January 5 for Nelson and New Plymouth' V^l ports. \ <Thc Somerset went to Port Chalmers this morning to complete loading her local cargo, and is expected to sail for Auckland to-morrow. The Katoa is scheduled to load at Auckland on January 4 for "Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. The C. and D. liner Port Hardy, which is now loading- at Ncw_ Plymouth, is to sail to-morrow for Picton, Wanganui, Port Chalmers, and Lyttelton to complete loading. She is to sail finally from Lyttelton-for/London via Panama'on January 1K Tho S.S. and A. liner Maimoa left Auckland on Tuesday morning for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. She ,is expected at this port about January. 5. THE FERRY SERVICE. The ferry steamer Wahino arrived at Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.45 this 'morning. Bad weather was encountered in the Indian Ocean, and when she put in lo Melbourne she was seventy days out from tho islands. During the trip from St. Fierro, eight of tho crow were stricken with beriberi fever, and on the night tho vessel reached Melbourne one victim died. Three of the crew were too ill to continue the voyage from Melbourne, ami one deserted'at that port. On November 12 the Olivebank loft Australia for New Zealand, and took nineteen days to make the Now Zealand coast owipg to being frequently becalmed.
