THEATRICAL STRIKE

ACTORS AS SCENE SHIFTERS Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. PARIS, December 26. (Received December 27, at 9.35 a.m.) Actors played double roles on Christmas Night, when '"the" scene-shifters struck for higher wages. The actors wore called upon to shift the scenery themselves during the intermissions, and the management of the Odeon Theatre was forced to substitute another play for the scheduled ‘ Bluebird,’ by Maeterlinck,, because the scenery was too heavy for the actors.— Australian Press Association.
