For the opening day the Manawatu Club's sinnmer fixture the weather was inclined to he showery. The track was in excellent order, and there was a splendid holiday attendance. Results; — ( Hurdles,'move,’ Ulim-l Red' Bank (9.2) 1, 6 Panorma (9.11) 2, 1 Elysianor (11.9) 3. All Won by a length. Time, 3min 16 2-ssec. Maiden Plate, 150sovs (All 8,0), 61. —l7 Mangahare ], 5 St. Melba 2, 10 Monetize 3. Scr, Warzone. Won by a length; two lengths. Tune, Imin 16 2-ssec. Tararua Handicap, 200sovs. 91. —6 King Quex (8.2) 1,2 Rory Mor (7-13) 2, 10 ilennn (9.5) 3. Scratched: Aurora Borealis, The Warden, Tm Jazz. Won by half a length each way.. Time, Imin 58sec.
