Sir Charles SkerreU anticipates that he will resume his seat on the Supreme Court bench on February 1. Those who have visited him at his Lowry Bay home state that he is remarkably well, and although a long over many months, resulted Tn the amputation of both legs, he is most optimistic regarding his lutnre. Months of pain and confinement have not robbed Sir Charles Skerrett ol interest in affairs in general, and when visited the other day lie was making plans for the work of the new year. Bendli, Bar, and the general public will accord Sir Charles an enthusiastic welcome on his reappearance. Auckland correspondent. Bishop Richards "held an ordination on Sunday forenoon last at St. Paul’s Cathedral. The sermon, preceded by the Bidding Prayer, was given by Archdeacon Whitehead. The litany was sung by Archdeacon W. Curzon-Sig-gers, who also read the epistle and assisted the bishop at the Holy Communion. The gospeller was the Kov. Mr Williams (newly ordained), who headed the candidates at the ordination examinations. The bishop ordained Messrs Williams, Groves, and Whitlock as deacons, and, assisted by the archdeacons and the Revs. Dighy Wilson and Williams (fathers of two candidates), ordained the Rev. Eric Wilson as priest. The Rev. 10. Wilson was afterwards licensed as curate to Orepuki, the Rev. M. Groves as curate at Gore, the Rev. Mr Williams as curate in the college districts, and the Rev. Mr Whitlock as curate'at Queenstown. Mr E. Heywood was organist, and the choir, under his direction, performed some beautiful music at a very devotional service.
