The British Ambassador (Sir Esme Howard) called on Mr Kellogg on Monday on behalf of the Allied Governments and Germany to convey their desire for participation by the United States' in the final settlement for reparations. Mr Kellogg afterwards conferred with President Coolidge, and later the Government assented to the appointment of United States experts to serve on the Expert Committee, with the understanding . that the United States representatives would be chosen and appointed by the Allied and German Governments. It is expected time the United States will bo asked whether the Allied Powers’ choice is acceptable to it. It is believed here that a settlement of the reparations problem will pave the way for I'rench ratification of the war debt agreement with the United States. Among the names of the American experts suggested are those who already served on the original Reparation Committee, Mr J. W. Dwight and Mr D, W. Morrow, of the J. P. Morcran Company, It is also understood that the United States holds that the German reparations payment allocated to her cannot be changed in the new adjustment.—Australian Press Association.
