Elaborate preparations are . being made by _ the committee, assisted by local residents, ■ for the forthcoming carnival and regatta to bo hpld . at Karitane on Boxing Day and the following days. The regatta is being held on Thursday only, while the carnival and aquatic sports arc being held nn both Wednesday and Thursday. Entres for outboard motor event scame from as far north as Christchurch, Attention is drawn,to the railway timetable in our advertising' columns, and patrons will note that the; railway fares! are very low.
