The Evening Star MONDAY, DECEMBER 24, 1928. “INSTALLED.”

It had' been intended to include with this, the first issue of the ‘ Evening Star * from the new premises, a supplement containing a brief history of the company and an illustrated description of , the buildings and their plant and equipment. The appearance of that supplement has, however, been deferred until, later in the week. Meanwhile a preliminary word may be said as to the : move from Bond street to Stuart street. The transfer was not without ; its problems, although the matter was to some extent simplified by the fact of a. great deal of entirely new machinery being installed in the now building and already in working order. /Nevertheless a good deal of heavy machinery and plant of all descriptions had to be transferred, and by the wholehearted efforts of the staff of .employees, together with the efficient service provided by local carrying companies, a somewhat formidable-looking task wad successfully accomplished, and to-day ‘ Star ’ readers get their accustomed evening paper. As will be noticed, lit has assumed a somewhat different appearance, duo chiefly to a slight shortening of the length of the page, in accordance with a practice which many evening papers are adopting when practicable. This is not done out of mere.caprice, one reason being that, as so many papers are opened in train or car, the rather smaller sheet is; handier, to. manipulate. Those who have to do business with the company from time to time will, rye hope, appreciate the accommodation and facilities now available for the public. A pleasant environment should promote the smooth, transaction of business. The thoughts of most people at the moment are, however, turning from business to the annual recreative break; therefore we take ; tliis opportunity of wishing all a merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year, ’
