Bray Bros., Ltd. (Dunedin), report as follows for week ended to-day; — The chaff market is firm. Only small consignments are arriving, and these are just about equal to the demand. Good quality is worth round about £0 pel- ton. _ . The oat market is still lifeless. There are very few inquiries. Up to 4s Id, f.0.b., s.i., is being asked for A Gartons, and 3s B]d f.0.b., s.i., for B’s. At present very little interest is being shown in the wheat market. Not much wheat is offering in the Otago district, but a few quotations aro coming forward from Canterbury. The fowl wheat market is quiet. Occasional lots are going to the North ; Island from Canterbury, round about 5s 9d per bushel, sacks extra. Millers’ prices aro as follow: Flour: 200’s £l6 15s, 100’s, £l7 15s, 50’s £lB, 25’s- £lB 10s. Bran,’£7. Pollard, £8 10s. Oatmeal: 25’s £23, 200’s £22. The potato market has eased. Supplies have come forward in larger quantities, and locally grown potatoes are soiling from Ijd to 3d lb, and offering more freely. Auckland grown aro now offering at Hd to 2d Jb. Some fine samples of locally grown potatoes are offering. _ The onion market is steady, and the market is fairly well supplied. Hams and bacon have been in good supply, but this last few days there has been a bettor demand.' for hams, and the market is firm. Cheese is offering freely, and the market steady. Eggs are coming forward in larger (quantities, and all good fresh lines are
readily placed at market quotations. There” is a demand for good dairy pat butter. Honey is still offering freely and prices moderate. Business in the fruit marts has been fair during the week. A shipment of Canadian apples arrived, and they_ are meeting with fair sales. There is a better inquiry for local grown Stumers. Strawberries are in short supply, and the quality is not as good as usual for this time of the year. Cherries have been in fair supply, and prices reasonable. Tomatoes _ are keeping steady in price, and prices moderate. There is a good demand. Poaches are starting to come forward. Oranges are in good 1 supply and prices low. The market is now well supplied with lemons. Vegetables are coming forward more freely, and peas have eased in price, imd sold as low as id to 1 fd. These prices are no good to tho grower. There is a better inquiry for good cabbage and cauliflowers. Cucumbers are realising fair prices. , All good clean lines of Irmt and vegetables are readily placed.
