Mr W. T., Hasdett passed through from Invercargill this morning on his waj to Hastings to visit Mr S. , Waddell (the trainer of his horses), who is ill. Tho Education Board has made the following appointments:—Miss Nellie M. Griffiths, probationer, Musselburgh; Mr E. Brownlie, bead teacher, Dunback; Mise A. J. Ashton, solo teacher, Tuapeka West; Mr G. Harre, first assistant, Anderson s Bay; Miss B. H. Grocott, ninth assistant, Macaudrevv road. New visitors to the Grand Hotel are _Mr G. Hceber (Now York) Mr B. H. Toswill (Pigeon Bay), Mr and Mrs C. B. Borcer (Christchurch). Recent arrivals at tho City Hotel are Mr and Mrs C. D. Edmmidson (Napier), Mr and Mrs J. Preston, Messrs .T. Thomson and E. Moo fOamaru), Messrs T. Fleming, J. Marshall, W. and J. Richardson (Invercargill).
