(Received December 21, at 10 a.m.) Joseph Livingstone, aged (50, was sentenced to six years in gaol for the manslaughter of Margaret Fearou, his sister-in-law. Mr Justice Maim described the crime as revolting and without the slightest provocation. [Mrs Margaret Fearon, who was housekeeper for her brother-in-law, Joseph Livingstone, and was aged 66, was found dead at her homo at Frankston seaside resort on October 21 with severe gashes in her neck. Tho body was found face downward in the back yard. Livingstone, who is an estate agent, was discovered in a front room ■with his throat cut, but ho was aide to speak. He told the police that ho intended to commit suicide, but changed his mind.]
