Large contractors here are deeply interested in a cable announcement from New Zealand that a New Zealander has invented a bricklaying machine which is capable of laying 5,000 bricks a day. While some contractors here are disinclined to comment until they have seen the New Zealand invention, Mr Allan Lewis, manager of Concrete Constructions, Ltd., declared that similar inventions have been experimented with in America and England, bat he had never heard what became of them-
