POLICE COURT
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 19. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) INDECENT ASSAULT. William Henry Hoskins, was charged with indecent assault upon a female on December 7 at Carey’s Bay. the mother of the girl, said that the child was 9J years of ago, ' »> After evidence hat. been given by Constable Stephen Paul and Dr Edgar F. Thomson the accused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence. Mr K. G. Hay, who appeared for the accused, asked for bail and the suppression of the name in tho meantime, but these requests were refused. REHEARING REFUSED. Charles Benjamin Walters applied tor tho rehearing of a case in which lie had, by consent, been adjudged the father of a child. Mr B. S. Irwin, who app-mred on his behalf, said that tho defendant could now prove that he was not the father of the child. Ater hearing the circumstances under which the order was originally made His Worship said he must refuse the application. An order was ' made that defendant should pay 10s per week for the maintenance of tho child.
