GLENCAIRN HALL, TOMAHAWK.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I fully oxpeetxl that once the position was made clear in regard to the above the correspondent 3 would close. However, “Luke’s Road” now comes forward and seeks information from mo on other points. All I can say is that the management of the hall is in most capable hands, and the committee must have very good reasons for raising the rent. Rumour hath it that the St. Hilda Hall authorities contemplated doing the same thing to the same body. Your correspondent states that I bavo been wrongly informed as to the wording of the advertisement appearing on the hall. If ho refers to my letter he will see that I merely repeated a statement contained in the letter of “Pro Bono Publico.” As to his last query, I again repeat that the name of tho'hall is “ Glcncairn Hall,” and for reasons given in my previous letter. I am not surprised that the word “public” was cut out of the advertisement.

Tt seems to me, sir, that your columns are being used by a disgruntled few, merely for tire purpose of pin-pricking. From what I can learn the letter of “Tomahawk Resident” was verv much to the point, and I am inclined"to think that “Luke’s Road” is a member of the faction lie refers to. —I am, etc., RotiEFT NICHOI.. December 19. fThis correspondence is now closed. -Ed. E.S.]
