MOTOR BY-LAWS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir,—l am interested, even if not instructed, by the latest effusion from the pen of Mr Thomas Ruddiman, who, lacking concrete material for debate, descends into the distasteful, and in this case futile, plan of personal abuse towards those correspondents who differ with him in his viewpoint upon the above subject. No one has, 1 am sure, the slightest interest in the effect his forced motoring has upon Mr Ruddiman, although in his declaration upon that fact I find a point of interest, in that from ids first screed 1 understood him to have the honour of representing his company (i.e., manager), whereas from his latest effusion he takes the part of canvassing inspector. While the above facts have no direct bearing upon tho discussion, they go to show Mr Iluddiman as a man of inconsistent statements, one who needs must bo accepted with duo allowance towards other more direct statements.—l am etc., R.M, December 19.
