ROUGH AND ILLEGAL TACTICS [Pm Untied I’kess Association.] AUCKLAND, December 17. A return wrestling match between Jolm Kilonis (Greece) and .Fat M'Carthy (Canada) to-night resulted in a win for Kilonis by two falls to one. The Town .Hall nils crowded. Kilonis again made* himself very unpopular by adopting rough and. illegal tactics,' frequently necessitating the intervention of the referee. There was an angry demonstration in the .sixth round, when Kilonis thumped M'Carthy’s head several times heavily on the boards -mtside the ropes. The referee ordered Kilonis back into the ring, Kilonis repying by catching the referee (Mr L. Wilson) by the shirt front and ripping it right down the front. The crowd urged round the ring, and when McCarthy re-entered the' referee held up M'Carthy’s hand, and tho - crowd cheered wildly in delight, thinking that Kilonis had been disqualified. However, the referee merely awarded a penalty fall to M'Carthy. Kiloiis had previously obtained a Boston crab hold in the fifth rOund, and lie secured the deciding fall in the eighth round with, an arm lock. There .was a prolonged outburst of hooting at the close when | Kilonis was declared the winner, and Ji'Cartliy was cheered to the echo.
