ACCIDENT AT POWER HOUSE DOCTORS WORK ON SPOT. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, December 18. (Received December 18, at 10.45 a.m.) Cnthbert M'Kendry, aged 39, was caught in the jaws of a conveyer at the power house at Newcastle, his arm being smashed to pulp. Ambulance bearers held him up while three doctors amputated his arm. The operation was performed in five minutes. M'Kendry is now in hospital. He is expected to recover.
