GLENCAIRN HALL, TOMAHAWK.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — [ notice a letter iu your paper with reference to the above, signed by Air Robert Nicliol. I am pleased to bear that this is a public hall. Can your correspondent toll me bow the Hall Committee .instilled raising the rent from £1 to .Cl 30s a night, '[hero, must bo very heavy expenditure for the upkeep of this ball. 1 also notice that a public meeting was held to form a row committee, but 1 have looked up the files of both newspapers, and can find no advertisement calling the same. Perhaps your correspondent could tell me what date and paper this advertisement appeared in. Your correspondent has been wrongly informed, as tho advertisement that appeared on the hall was “ Glencairn Public Hall,” and the word “public” was cut out. If it is a public ball, why was tho word “ public ” removed? —I am, etc., October 3d. . Luke’s Road.
