It is understood that he has received an offer to race Burns, holder of the Australian professional championship, for a purse of £SOO and the right to challenge Bert Barry for the world’s title on the Thames Pearce says ho cannot live on air, and is awaiting the terms of an offer from the Philadelphia Boat Club. [Pearce will meet Jackson, the New Zealand amateur champion, next Saturday.]
