Tho Rev, Clyde Carr (Timaru) tabled tho following question to the Postmaster-General in the House today: Whether an extension of time has been granted to the Radio Broadcasting Co. whereby the existing monopoly is to bo continued tor a further three and a-balf years? Also, whether tho sum of £IO,BOO has been paid to Amalgamated Wireless, Ltd. (Australia), the agents, I am credibly informed, for a German company, by the Government of New Zealand in satisfaction of certain unproved claims for infringement of patent rights by the retail trade? And whether it is intended to increase listeners’ annual license fees by Is? * » * * LOAN OF £IB,OOO. The Local Bodies Loans Board has authorised the Otago Centra] Electric Power Board to borrow £IB,OOO for Matakanui and Lauder reticulation, and a loan of £3,000 for financial assistance to consumers.
