PIGEON FLIGHTS
Tho Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew a race on Saturday, November 2T, from Gisborne, an airline distance of 041 miles. The birds wore unfortunate in striking bad weather in tho North Island, and Mr A. Stevenson’s bird, Kilkerran, was the only one home in race time, Hying the distance in 32h 4min. There were twenty-three birds from twelve lofts, birds also being flown by Messrs Conley and Ranger, R. Parker, F, Jones, G. Coutts, 0; Oliver, ,J'. Hardgraves, J. Scoullar, ]) Murray, H. Millard, L. Tonks, and J. Still. The club also flew a race last Saturday from Ashburton, an airline distance of 151 miles. They did not have tho best of conditions, but put up a good fly. The stationmastcr liberated seventy-three birds from thirteen lofts, alul the winning bird flew the distance in 4h 22min. Result in yards per minute: —D. Gillam, Conley and Banger, C. Oliver, J. Hardgraves, R. Parker, F. Jones, G. Coutts, and J. Scoullar also flow.
