GOVERNMENT SAVINGS BANK Press Association— By Telegraph —Copyright. SYDNEY, December 13. The now Government Savings Bank in Sydney, which lias frontages to three main thoroughfares, and cost £1,500,000, was officially opened to-day by the Premier (Mr T. E. Bavin) in the presence of a big crowd. Mr Bavin described the bank as the second largest savings bank in the British Empire, and he stated'that the deposits amounted to £70,000,000. Tho material used in the construction is largely polished granite, and the interior banking chamber is most beautiful, besides being one of the largest in the world. •
