ARRlVED.—December 13. Ruapehu, s.s. (9.30 p.m.), 9,013 tons, A. W. M'Kellar, from London and Southampton via Colon, Panama, an 1 Wellington. ARRlVED,—December 14. Karetu, s.s. (G a.m.), 3.210 tons, Buxton, from Sydney via Bind'. The Corinna was due this afternoon from Wellington to discharge and load general cargo. Her freight from Wellington includes transhipments ex tho Waihemo from San Francisco. Tho Corinna is timed to sail to-morrow for Nelson, and New Plymouth via ports. Tho Katoa, which is now due here on Sunday, loft Lyttelton to-day for Timaru, and thence to Dunedin. The Katoa' is carrying general cargo, including transhipments ex the Niagara from Vancouver and Honolulu, for discharge at this port. After discharge tho vessel will proceed to Bluff. Tho Kaliika, which is timed to arrive here to-morrow from Napier and Gisborne via ports, is to sail on .Monday for the northern ports. Tho Kaiapoi left Westport on Wednesday night with a cargo of coal lor discharge at Bluff, Dunedin, and Oamnru. She is due at this port on Tuesday. Tho Waipiata, which arrived at Ai ckland this morning, is to sail on Monday for Dunedin, via -ports. Tho Waipahi is to leave Wellington on Saturday for Dunedin, direct. She loads out on Monday for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Tho intercolonial steamer Manuka is timed to leave Melbourne on Wednesday for Bluff and Dunedin. She is due here about Christmas Day. The Port Pin is to sail from New York on December 22 for Auckland, Napier, AVcllington, Lyttelton, Md Dunedin. The Kent was to sail from Wellington on Wednesday for Napier, Bluff, Timaru, Port, Chalmers, and Wellington to load products. She is to sail from the last-named port on January 10 for London via Panama.
Cable advice received by tho Federal Line states that tbo Cornwall left Liverpool on December 9 with general cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Now Plymouth. Tho vessel is due at Auckland about January 17, and at this port about February 7. The Union Company advises that the Waiotapu is expected to leave Calcutta to-morrow for Penang and Singapore to complete loading for Lyttelton, Timarj, Dunedin, Bluff, Wellington, and Auckland. Tho Shaw, Savill Company's motor ship Taranaki arrived at New Plymouth on Wednesday evening from Australian ports to commence loading. She proceeds later to Wanganui roadstead, Wellington, Timaru, and Port Chalmers. Tho Taranaki is to sail from Port Chalmers on January 9 fur .London via Panama.
Messrs H. L. Tupley and Co. advise that the Canadian Britisher is due at Dunedin on December 23 from Montreal, via northern ports, to discharge Canadian cargo and loud products. She will leave this port about December 27 for Timaru, Wellington, Napier, and .Auckland to complete loading for New York, Boston, and Halifax. BLUE FUNNEL LINER. The Blue Funnel Line steamer Rhexenor arrived at Sydney recently from Antwerp. The Rhexenor, which is a sister ship to the Merioncs, was built in 1922. She is one of the fastest vessels in the Blue Funnel fleet. For ten days on the voyage to Australia she steamed at an average of 15.0 knots. Information was then received by wireless than the date of the wool sales had been postponed, and she shut down her boilers a little. Even then .she made the trip from Bremen steaming at an average rate of 15.1 knots. The Rhexenor has been on tho run between Great Britain and the East since she was launched. This was her first visit to Australia. On account of illness, Captain Stout, of tho Rhexenor, was unable to make the voyrf;e, and two months ago the command of the ship was taken over by Captain J. Davis, formerly in command of the steamer Astyanax, a regular visitor to Australia. RUAPEHU’S PASSENGERS. Tho New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruapehu, which arrived at Port Chalmers last evening, has a largo quantity of general cargo to discharge. Tho vessel brought tho following passengers for Dunedin:—Mr A. R. Johnstone, Misses G. A. Holman and L. A. White, Mrs M. Carrington, Mr 6. G. Caldcr. Mr and Mrs J. Moon, and Mrs L. Donnelly. The Ruapehu will sail about tho middle of next week for Lyttelton, Napier, and New Plymouth to complete discharge. KARETU ARRIVES. Tho Union Company steamer Karein arrived this morning from Newcastle and Sydney via Blulf to discharge a large quantity of general cargo. Her freight includes transhipments ex tho Himalaya Maru, Talleyrand, Sierra, Marella, Trelyon, Taranaki, Moncalicri, Bombala, Mongolia, Morotou Bay, Arafura, Orford, Taiping, Moldavia, Nicuw Holland, Marama, Tailored, Ahnkerk, and Kyokkoh Maru; also a largo quantity of fresh fruit, timber, hardwood poles, and sleepers. From this port the Karetu will sail to-morrow morning for Lyttelton to continue discharge. She will return to Dunedin about the middle of next week to unload, Newcastle coal. PACIFIC COAST CARGO. Tho Union Company’s transpacific cargo steamer Waiknwa arrived at Vancouver on December 8 from Sydney, and after loading is expected to sail to-morrow for San Francisco and Los Angeles, clearing tho last-named port on January 4 for Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, and New Plymouth. The vessel is duo at Napier on January 31. SYDNEY-NEW ZEALAND SERVICE. Tho Union Company advises that tho Marama will leave Auckland for Sydney on Thursday, December 20, instead of Friday, December 21, in order to arrive at tho New South Wales port before. Christmas Day. Sho will leave Sydney for Wellington on Saturday, December 29, instead of Friday. December 28 and is due at the northern port on Wednesday, January 2. The Maunganui will leave Wellington for Sydney on Thursday, December 20, instead ;bf Friday, December 21, and will leave tho New South Wales port on Thursday, December 27, instead of Friday, December 28, for Auckland j being due at tho northern port on Monday, December 31. 1
