MR LEECH'S LYRIC CHOIR
Ou Saturday evening next, at H? 9 Majesty’s Theatre, Mr Leech’s Lyric Choir will present Fielding’s ‘ Tom Jones ’ in opera form (by Edward German). Edward German’s music remains charming throughout, and is capable of evolving enough new and contrasting matter to sustain interest to tho end. The choir strength is over 100 voices, and ample scope will be found in the stirring, sparkling, and animated choruses which adorn the opera. Those who are susceptible to the charms of music should enjoy the nutnmors allotted to the soloists. Ino principals are Mr Lawrence A. North, who will sing the name part of ‘Tom Jones ’: the part of Sophm has been entrusted to the true soprano of Miss Valda M'Curdy; Miss Stuart Mitchell will sing the exacting part ol Lady Bclaston; and Mws »or« M'Curdy as Honour, Mr W. G. Hilhkcr as Weston, and Mr Les Stubbs will complete a cast in. which individuality is the keynote. A full concert orchestra will support tho production, and, Mr John T. Leech will conduct. _ The hoi ulan arrangements are advertised.
