Linclrum attributes his brothers failure against Smith in England principally to the fact that' the latter never plays hut on one paiticular table, which he knows to the fraction of an inch. It is for this reason that Smith does not enter for the world’s championship. AA’niter says if he succeeds in the world’s championship He will challenge Smith to play on a new table, but will under no circumstances play him, on his own. He added that through M'Conachy’s unfortunate illness the .New Zealand tour was not a financial success-.
