The whole of the personnel of the Ministerial secretariat has been absorbed, and the majority of the private secretaries will carry on under the new regime in the departments in which they were serving at the time of the change of Government* The Prnno Minister announced this afternoon that the allocation of private secretaries was as follows; — Prime Minister, Mr C, A. Jeffery; Minister of Lands mid Agriculture, Mr A. W Mulligan,- Minister of Defence, Mr G. P. Dixon; Minister of Native Affairs and the Cook Islands Department, Mr H. R. H. Balneavis and Mr A. J. Conway; Minister of Education, Mr W. 1. Deavoll; Minister of Labou;, Mr F. M. Sherwood; Minister of Public Works, Mr N. E. Hutchings; Minister of Railways, Mr T. R. Aickm; Postmaster-General, Mr W. R. King,; Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr E. N. G. Pool ton; Minister of Marine,- ■■ Mr F. G. Matthews; Minister of. Health, Sir J. T. Waugh; Attorney-General, Mr S. Y. Jones. It is stated that Mr W. J. Shanly, private secretary to the ex-Ministor ot Agriculture, wilt be allocated to a Minister. ‘ Mr F. D. Thomson, permanent head of the Prime Minister’s Department, will, of course, continue to hold that position.
