OCTOBER EXAMINATIONS

PASS LIST ANNOUNCED

Tlio puss list in connection with the October examinations held under the auspices of the Institute of f Civil Engineers has been received. These examinations are held twice a year—in April and October—and all the papers are forwarded to England for adjudication. It is somewhat remarkable that of the 09 passes in the preliminary section from all thq world, per cent, were New Zealanders. This is accounted for hy the fact that in Public Works Department and Railways Department, officers cannot rise above a certain grade without becoming an Associate of, the Institute.
