DISCHARGE REFUSED
EX-BEAUTY SPECIALIST’S BANKRUPTCY [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, March 2. Application for her discharge from bankruptcy was made to-day by I'lorencc Chattorton, a mariod woman, now of Wellington, but formerly a beauty specialist in Auckland. “Thev forced me into bankruptcy. I offered them the whole of my business, but they refused unconditionally. Of course, it is petty family spite,” she said. Debtor had been subpoenaed by counsel for the principal creditor. Mrs Chattorton had a will made in her favor by her mother, but the other children" attacked it on the ground of undue influence. The will was upset, and the Court of Appeal was also against Mrs Chattorton, who was put to an expenditure amounting to £4OO. Counsel understood it was in respect of this she was made bankrupt, and, opposing discharge, alleged that she had received certain moneys without disclosing them. Mrs Chatterton admitted that preferential wages had not been paid, and in answer to a question by Mr Justice Meed, said she had received money from the estate, and had not paid any back.
Discharge was thereon refused
