After a native had scraped the surface from a small area tho Minister reckoned up that diamonds worth £6OO had been taken within an hour. Ho disclosed that tho Government had made arrangements with the discoverer to stop working, and tho Government had acquired 30,000 claims. It was proposed to start a State mine.
