MADAME GITTA ALPAR

TO-MORROW NIGHT

One has only to place oneself in the position of Madame Gitta Alpar, a stranger in a foreign land with two small children to caro for, in order to appreciate her courage in the’ face of difficulty. It is pleasant to record that large numbers of our people in the northern cities have availed themselves of the privilege of helping her in a tangible manner by their presence at her concerts, and Dunedin will be given an opportunity of doing the same on Saturday night at Burns Hall, when a highly interesting programme will bo presented to patrons. Madame Alpar is a gifted ginger with a sparkling personality, whose interpretation of Hungarian folk songs Ims won golden opinions from the northern Press. Everywhere musicians have gladly co-ope-rated with her, and here she will have the assistance of Messrs Max Scherek, G. W. Johnstone, and Misses Eva Scott and Margaret H. Gawne. Thus the artistic success of the concert being assured, it only remains for the public to rally round , and demonstrate that national characteristic which is ever ready to hold out a helping hand to one in trouble. The. concert is under the patronage of Sir Robert and Lady Stout, and Rota nans and kindred clubs in all other centres have extended their practical sympathy. Seats can be reserved.
