ROYAL MALE CHOIR
Next. Tuesday evening the choir will give another of their delightful concerts in His Majesty’s Theatre—the 160th, which completes their forty-first season. The items by the members will include three beautiful part songs—‘The Image of the Rose,’ ‘The Lark Now Leaves His Watery Nest,’ and ‘ Old Folks at Home, 1 with a humming accompaniment to the solo singing of Messrs Leslie Dailey. Alfred Walmsley, and John A. Haggitt. Mr D. G. Stark imported the negro folk song for the society. Other items are the majestic anthem of Beethoven, ‘Creation's Hymn’; a lovely New Hebridean folk song, ‘An Island Shieling Song’ (arranged by Mr Hugh Robertson); a part song of Handel’s ‘Judas Maccabseus ’ (the gift of Walter Ellis); a song from the Flemish, ‘They Cannot Kill the Soul’ (presented by_ Mr Arthur Barnett) ; and the rousing ‘ Roman War Song ’ (Dr Galway’s present to the choir). Mr Haggitt and Dr Galway will play the accompaniments. The soloist of the evening is Miss Irene Horniblow, L.R.A.M., and the ■ iolinist Miss Eva Judd, both of whom are well and favorably known. Messrs Herbert Prowse and E. R. Benton are the choir soloists. New subscribers are asked for. The box plan opens to-morrow.
