MATCH AGAINST SOUTHLAND HOME SIDE DISMISSED FOR i2i. [_Pr.it United Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, February 28. The Australian cricketers commenced a match against Southland this afternoon. Tho home side won the toss, and •took first use of the wicket, which was in good order. The attendance was very satisfactory. A cricket match was played between Palmerston and Dunback on the latter ground, under the auspices of the Waihemo Cricket Sub-association. An easy win was scored by Dunback. Dunback, batting first, compiled 90 runs, the double-figure, scorers being H. Hocking (26 not out), S. Wilson (12). and P. Roberts (10). Palmerston replied with 48, W. Early being the only double-figure scorer with .12. Dunback in its second innings made 73 for three wickets. S. Wilson (34), A. M‘Neil (10 not out), and G. Glover (11) batted well. Palmerston lost three wickets for 32 in its second innings. Bowling for Palmerston, Bowers took four wickets for 51, Simp,sou one for 29, Elliot three for 21, Torrence two for 50. Bowling for Dunback, W. Glover secured five wickets lor 20, and A. M . -oil five for 23.
