ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS

DR AND CHILDREN INJURED. A serious collision between two motor cars occurred at a corner in Remuora, Auckland, last evening. The cars involved were those of Dr A. H. Marsack and Mr P. T. Upton. Dr Marsack received severe head injuries, and was admitted to’hospital. Jwo of Mr Upton’s children, who were in the car with their father, suffered head injuries. One child, aged throe and a-half years, is seriously injured. An operation _ was performed, and its condition is serious. The other child, a boy, escaped with bruises. Dr Marsack’s car was wrecked, and Mr Upton’s car was badly damaged. BODY ON RAILWAY LINE. The badly mutilated body of a man,, not yet identified, was found on the railway line near Mount Eden Station, Auckland. 'The body was discovered by the guard of an outgoing train. It is not known how the fatality happened. The deceased was aged between forty and fifty years. He was a dark man, chan shaven, and of medium build. KNOCKED DOWN BY TRUCK. John MJvinlny, a young man residing at Milton and employed at the Milburn homeworks, suffered severe in- ; vies yesterday morning through being hit by a runaway truck. Mill icent Elizabeth Richter, aged forty-two. wife of a Mokoia farmer, who was found unconscious on the main road near her homo on Friday evening and removed to hospital with severe head injuries, died about IT o’clock on Saturday night without having regained consciousness.—Hawera message. DIED FROM INJURIES. After two weeks’ hospital treatment for head injuries, Roy Edward Jackson, aged six, died last evening. The boy was injured on February 2 in running across a. road in Hawcra to meet his father. He crossed behind a stationary car and ran into a moving car which was following the one driven by tbo boy’s father. The driver swerved, but could not avoid the boy, who was struck by a mudguard. FATAL COLLISION. The inquest on the body of Thomas George Needham, carrier, was concluded at Wellington. The deceased died on February 10 ns tbo result of a collision between bis horse and a tram car. Tbo Coroner, Mr C. Riddell, found that death was due to pneumonia, following injuries to tbo chest. It wan stated that the deceased left the hospital against the wish of the doctors. INJURY TO WICKET KEEPER. While keeping wickets for Riccarton on Saturday M. Doreen was hit over the eye with a ball and bad to receive hospital treatment. However, bo will bo able to play for Canterbury against Australia this week. FALL FROM MOTOR, CYCLE. As the result of a fall from a motor cycle, Matthew Darby, aged nineteen, whose parents reside in Auckland, was admitted to the Waikato Hospital last night Buffering from severe injuries to tlie head and concussion. The accident occurred about 5 o’clock, near the Rukuhia cheese factory. His condition is reported fair.—Hamilton Press Association telegram. KNOCKED DOWN BY MOTOR. While crossing Princes street, south, last evening, Maisie Connel, aged twenty, and residing at 15 Peel street, Mornington, was knocked down by a motor car, and her injuries necessitated her removal to the hospital at 11.15. The nature of her injuries had not been ascertained this morning*
