GARDEN FETE
The picturesque and spacious grounds of Mr S. Solomon’s residence, Granville terrace, were the ■ scene of a successful garden party on Saturday afternoon. As a result, tho Dunedin Free Kindergarten Association, for which the fete was held, should benefit considerably. The beautiful weather brought a large gathering, mostly ladies, who freely patronised tho various stalls and other attractions. Proceedings were considerably enlivened -by the presence of a band. A feature of the outing was a baby show competition, which was won by Roy Allen, Orma Baker coming second, and a special prize was awarded to Vernon and Laurie Tie in the over nine months’ old class Allan Potter nine months’ old class Allan Patter came first and Findlay Constable second. The judging was done by Dr Hartv, with the assistance of Mrs Hart'y and Mrs Evans A putting competition, which attracted twenty-four entrants, was won by Miss V. Wilkin, and a treasure hunt' was won by Mrs A. C. Hanlon, who handed the money prize over for some charitable purpose.
