Attwood, lor Oamaru, 'the Kurow sailed on Saturday night for Auckland via ports. ’ The Kamona was to leave Lyttelton this afternoon for Dunediti, where she is due to-morrow to load lor Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. The Kamo was to load at Westport to-day for Lyttelton, Timaru, Oamaru, and Dunedin. 11.M.5. Laburnum left this morning fi»r Oamaru after over a week’s stay at Dunedin. The Gale is now due from Lyttelton to-morrow night, and is to load and sail the following day for Timaru,'’ Lyttelton Wellington, and Wanganui. Tlio Calm, from Bluff, is due on. March 2, and the Breeze and the Storm, from Lyttelton, arc both expected hero on March 5. All three vessels are to load for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. After lying idle in the stream at 'Auckland since the middle of December, tin Melanesian Mission steamer Southern Cross is to refit in April for her coming cruise to the Melanesian Mission stations in the South-west Pacific. On April 19 she is to dock for cleaning and painting, and on May i sho is scheduled to take her departure for the. stations. S.S. CUMBERLAND SAILS. FOR LONDON DIRECT.. The big steamer Cumberland, which left Port Chalmers, a full ship, on Saturday morning for London via the Panama Canal, is the second oversea carrier lo leave Port Chalmers direct for the Imperial Capital. The advantages Otago Harbor offers as a final port 'of departure for oversea traders of 1 large tonnage is engaging the attention of shipowners to an ever increasing extent. The Cumberland is one ol the biggest vessels engaged in the New Zealand produce trade, and loaded at various dominion ports to the order oi the New Zealand Shipping Company. IHOROIIATA AT NEWPORT NEWS. Cabled news has been received stat- - ing that the Hororata arrived at Newport News on Tuesday from Auckland, mi route to New York, Halifax, and London. Cabled news lias been received by the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company that their liner Athenic left Colon on February IS for Southampton and London, en' route from 'Wellington. The vessel left Wellington on January 28. P.IAKO AT COLON. En rent to from New A ork to Auckland, the A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer Pinko is reported to have reached Colon on Tuesday last. Bringing general cargo for Auckland, Wellington,' Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin, the Canadian Government steamer Canadian Britisher was scheduled to leave Halifax on Friday. She is due here about April 10. NORFOLK ARRIVES HOME. A cable message announces that the Norfolk arrived in the Thames on Wednesday from Auckland, but she was delayed in berthing at London, owing to log. The vessel , left Auckland on January 14 for London, Avonmonth, Glasgow, and Liverpool. CORINTHIC LEAVES BALBOA. News by cable has been received by tho Shaw) Savill, and Albion Company that their liner Corinthic left Balboa on February .18 lor Wellington, Port Chalmers, and Lyttelton. The vessel is due at, Wellington on March 11.

On her run up from Bluff the motor tug Southland, which arrived at Fort Chalmers last night, averaged a speed of 12 knots. She came here to escort back the dredge Murihiku, which has just completed an overhaul, Both vessels proceed direct to Paterson’s Inlet to lift an anchor and 12U fathoms of cable which was lost from the C. A. Larsen, when the whaler struck the rocks. WEST ELCAJON FOR NEW ZEALAND. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that the West Elcajon, which is to leave Los Angeles on March 21 lor New Zealand ports, will now include Napier and Timaru in her itinerary. The vessel will not call here. KARETU REPORTED. The Union Company advises that the Karetu left Melbourne- on Friday last with general cargo for Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin THE WEST CONOB. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that the West Conob, from Los Angelos via northern ports, will, alter discharge hero, proceed to Bluff’. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL.
