MOTOR OUTING

A most enjoyable motor run, organised by the Dunedin master grocers, was held on Saturday afternoon. Leaving town at 2 o’clock, about thirty cars, carrying the grocers with their wives and families, and accompanied by their wholesale friends with their wives and families, journeyed to Salisbury, North Taien, where a delightful time was spent in games, sports, and social intercourse. The spirit of goodwill reigned, and all entered into the A number of novel races and competitions were staged, while the tug-of-war between retailers and wholesalers was so evenly contested that only the sudden ■ snapping of the rope brought the test of strength to an hilarious, mixed-up conclusion. The generosity of manufacturers and grocers made it possible to award many valuable prizes. The committee tenders to Mr Goughian its thanks for the use of his ground.
