OTAGO V. SOUTHLAND The annual interproviucial tennis fixture Otago v. Southland commenced this morning on the Anderson's Bay courts in glorious weather. The Southland team was strong in the men’s division, but four of the ladies selected were unable to make the trip. live matches in the mixed doubles wore played, Otago winning three and Southland two. The results of the play aro as follow, Otago players being mentioned first: — M'Dougall and bliss _ Pattiaon beat Sumpter and Miss Melvin, 6-4, 6-4. Guy and Miss White beat Lindsay and Mrs Chartres, 6-2, 6-2. Jensen and Miss Maloney beat Diack and Miss Blaikie, 6-2, 7-5. Bell and Miss Todd lost to Johnstone and Miss Price, 5-7, 1-6. Rawlinson and Miss Finch lost to Hu wires and Miss Mahoney, 6-3, 3-6, 0-6.° ______
