A HEATED DEBATE LABOR MEMBER ORDERED TO LEAVE. LONDON, February 23. There were lively scenes in the course of a debate in the House of Commons initiated by Miss Susan Lawrence (Labor), and dealing with tho Government’s action to check over-generous poor law relief. Mr T. E. Groves (Labor) read a letter threatening ex-soldiers with legal proceedings in order to recover 12s. “Did you write the letter?” asked a, Conservative back-bencher. “You dirty dog!” shouted Mr Jack Jones (Labor), while Mr Groves protested the letter’s genuineness. Mr Will Thorne (Labor) wished tho King were present, and said: “I ani sure' His Majesty would have tho will if he had tho power.” Later Mr Jones called Sir Kingsley Wood a damned liar, and was ordered to leave the House. He. walked out, saying: “ I will go; hut he remains, the liar.” The debate wound up in frequent uproar.
