MASTER BUILDERS’ CONFERENCE
[Fee United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, February 22. To-day’s session concluded the annual conference of the Master Builders Federation. The following resolutions were passed ; —- “ That this federation instructs the incoming executive to make representations to the Government at an early date urging the abolition of the penal rate on imported timber.” “That the incoming executive be instructed to watch carefully any proposed legislation dealing with workers’ unemployment insurance, and that it secure an expression oi *spinion from local associations on any such proposed legislation.” The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr W. Parkin; vicepresident, Air W. Williamson (Christchurch; executive—Messrs H. Mainland, A. Kletcher, W. Mill (Wellington, and J. W. Granham (Christchurch) ; lion. auditors, Messrs G. D. Dick and J. C. Brown; trustees, Messrs W. Parkin and W. Mill; representatives on the New Zealand Employers’ Federation Advisory Board, Air H. Mainland; secretary, Mr I l '. Boss. It was decided that the next annual conference ho held at Invercargill.
