BOUGHT FOR A LADY FRIEND A WELCOME PRESENT. Recently a Melbourne business man paid a holiday visit to New Zealand alter an absence of about five years. Ho was chatting with a Wellington friend just prior to the departure of the Maunganui. Suddenly he said: “My word, there is one thing 1 must get before I leave, and that is a couple of bottles of Baxter’s Lung Preserver. I have a lady friend in Melbourne who is afflicted occasionally with an attack of bronchitis. Some years ago she was over in New Zealand, and then got on to Baxter’s. I promised her that t would take a supply back with me. He then went to the nearest chemist on Lambton quay and purchased two large bottles. Bie fame of Baxter's Lung Preserver is steadily spreading abroad. Orders now come for this well-known specific from all parts of the world. Possesses unique tonic ' properties. New Zealanders are fortunate in being able to procure “ Baxter’s ” at all chemists and stores. It is unequalled as a cough and cold remedy. Pleasant to take, and it does good from the first dose. “Baxter’s” is procurable at half acrown for a generous-sized bottle, or in the bachelor size at eighteen pence.— [Advt.] Wibbles: “Scribbler doesn’t write any mother-in-law jokes nowadays, I notice.” Wabbles: “ No—not since his marriage.” “Why, I wonder?” “Says he’s found out by actual experience that a mother-in-law is no joke.”-
