, HAWKE GUP Wanganui yesterday commenced a match on its own ground against Mana> vatu (the challengers) for the Hawke Cup. The visitors batted first, and in four hours and a-half made only 166 after a dull and slow display. At the drawing of stumps Wanganui had scored 73 runs without loss.
