IRISH FREE STATE
CLAIMS FOR DAMAGE. LONDON, February 20. Mr Winston Churchill (Chancellor of the Exchequer) announced in the House of Commons that the Government had decided to hold available a sum not exceeding £1,000,000 for the settlement of claims for damage and injury suffered in the Irish Free State immediately following the treaty. Awards not exceeding £I,OOO would ho paid in full immediately.—A. and N.Z. and ‘Sun’ Cabk*.
