EASTER PRICES FOR SHEEP. \

A large yarding of sheep did not meet I with a ready sale at Burnside io-day, while ■ there was good competition for lambs. As the fat cattle sale was late in commencing, prices consequently cannot be quoted. I Bat Cattle.—A yarding of 267 showed fair , average quality. Tho proportion of cows ■ and heifers was fairly large, and there was j a fair number of prime bullocks. j Bat Sheep I There were over 2,000 penned. J Tho large entry was of fair average qual- ■ ity. There were nice pennings of light station wethers, and (lie proportion of medium to prime ewes was fairly largo. Competition was not keen, and prices generally were easier by 2s a head. They could bo quoted much the same as the ruling rates for a fminight ago. Brices: Extra fino wethers, to 395; prime heavy wethers, 31s to 335; medium, 27s to 28s; light, 24s to 235; extra prime ewes, to 295; prime heavy, 20s to 225; medium, 15s Bd to 17s; light and unfinished, 12?. Lambs.—About 600 were penned. The quality was mixed, the proportion of seconds being largo. There was a fair demand for all sorts, other classes being dull. Tha competition was fairly keen. Prices; Extra heavy lambs, to 335; prime, 27s to 295; light, 21s to 255; graziers, 18s to 21s. Store Cattle.—The qualify of the large entry was good. The proportion of three and four-year bullocks comprised 150. All other classes were represented. The demand for all good classes of mature bullocks was firm. Values of other grades of cattle were much the same. Briers: Best bullocks, £ll to £l2 12s; medium, £9 Is to £lO 9s; best station cows, up to £6 SS. Pigs.—A penning of 129 fats and 45 stores. Pigs were not in any great demand, andC were selling at cheap rates.
