FIRST DAY. The Gore Racing Club’s Summer Meeting was opened in fine weather. The track was hard and fast. The attendance was good. Results: — Hurdle Handicap, 140sovs. IJm. —3 Coastguard (10.2) 1,2 Koanau (11.0) 2, 4 Atapo (9.7) 3. Scratched; Kapuna, Tunamoe. Two lengths ; fifteen lengths. Time, 3min 16 l-ssec. In the first race Jack o’ Lantern broke his fetlock and was later destroyed. Longford Hack, 125 so vs. 6f.—4 Battle Flag (7.7) 1, 7 Quickform (5.2) 2, 5 Cannthia (8.0) 3. Scratched: Antrim Boy. Two lengths; half length. Time, Imin 14soc. Racing Club Handicap, 250 sovs. 11m.—2 Bilbo (7.2) 1. 3 Lucy Lockett (7.0) 2, 1 Wingatui (7.7) 3. One and a-half lengths ; half length, Time, 2min Ssec.
