LONDON, February ‘2l. (Deceived February 22, ab 11.10 a.in.) Mr A. A. Somerville, supported by eight Conservatives, introduced a private Hill into tbo Commons to amend the Umpire Sell lenient Act, allowing aid to be extended to persons engaging in industry and agriculture in the United Kingdom, also imparting training either hero or in tbo dominions, the expense oV which may bo. recouped from the payments the trainee receives under tbo Unemployment Insurance Act.
The new clause wipes out the limit of expenditure on the trainee here, and permits the department to bear the whole or part of the outlay. It also proposes the creation of an Empire Settlement Board of five members to carry out the Act under the Minister’s control.
