THE WHITE CITY FAIR KING INTERESTED IN DOMINION DISPLAY. Press Association—By Telegraph- Copyright LONDON, February 21. (Received February 22, at 11.25 a.m.) The Queen and Princess Mary only passed through the Marketing Board’s section at the fair, but the King spent a considerable time inspecting the various dominions’ displays. He particularly noticed Australia’s wine exhibits. and was impressed when told that the imports increased tenfold in live yearly periods. He also noticed the dried fruits, and said that he was very pleased to hear that they were taking a prominent place in the English markets. At the New Zealand display lie said: “So this is New Zealand butter. It is a very fine show.”
The King asked how long the butter tasted after being unloaded, and was told that it did not contain preservative. He was also very interested in a wax model of a lamb carcase which bad deceived even butchers.
