NATIONAL BUILDING SOCIETY

There was a lair attendance of members at tho National Building Society appropriation meeting last night in the Otago Motor Club rooms. The meeting was held for the purpose of disposing of £2.400 by ballot and sale. Mr J. It, Fairbairn was in the chair, and in the course of his opening remarks mentioned that to date the society had disposed of £17,000 in advances to members.

The ballot in No. 1 group resulted in cluster No. 454 being drawn, the shares being held by three members, one member holding two shares and two members one share each.

The appropriation of £BOO in No. 1 group was purchased at £4O per £IOO, and that in No. 2 group at £45 per £IOO. The Chairman explained that these premiums represented 5 3-8 per cent, and 6 per cent, respectively.
