LOST TIME AT MIXER
Very often an inspector of building work has noticed that a good deal of time is wasted in handling materials at the mixer. The mixer should always be placed as close to the work as possible so that it will not be necessary to wheel the concrete long distances. Of -course, in some cases it is not possible to place the mixer near the forms on account of the fact that the aggregates will have to be wheeled t") the mixer. Another thing to watch is fcbs turning about at the mixer. The plantshould be arranged so that the wKxeler passes the mixer on his way from form to form instead of having to stop at the mixer and then back away. Just boar in mind that a minute wasted on each trip means an hour ■wasted each day. Where eight men are employed as wheelers this would n can a loss of money equal to one day’s pay for one man. These items arc well worth watching.
