Watts, J. Hinchcliff; A. Ellis, F. Jones, W. Connor, A. Smellie; F. J. Campbell, T. Smith (St. Clair), W. Blackwood, C. J. Payne; T. A. Wright, D. R. Corson, 6. R. Mitchell, A. Slater. The game will be played on Thursday next on Roslyn green, commencing at 2 p.m. The game will be of twentyfive heads. VICTORIA V. CANTERBURY A five rinks match between the Victorian team and a Christchurch team to-day had :■ very exciting finish. It was a neek-and-neck contest all the way, the aggregates taken at various stages of the game showing only the smallest margins, and when four rinks had finished all the bowlers gathered round to see the fifth rink play the last two heads, the score standing at 21-12 against the Australians. This, however, left the Victorians 3 points to the good on the whole match, and when they secured a single on the twentieth head very few gave the local players a chance. On the last head, however, Christchurch scored a. 4. and the game ended in a draw—loo all. HEW ZEALAND TEAM BEATEN MELBOURNE, February 20. Tiie New Zealand touring team was welcomed by the Victorian Bowling Association, and nine rinks played at Middle Park against the Victorians. The local players defeated the New Zealanders by 186 to 169. WAIKOUAITI V. SEACLIFF A match between the Waikoua.it! and Scaeliff Bowling Clubs was played at Waikouaiti on Saturday. The scores were as under (Waikouaiti names first) Hunt, Gent, Templeton, Fell 24, Jamieson, Woods, De Bazin, Edmondson 15; Stewart, Allcock, M'Clymont, Mndge 21, Willis, Martin, Ramsay, Mayall 18; Potts, Davis, Malloch, Carsou” 23, Sligo, Tibbie, Simmons, Thomson 17. Totals; Waikouaiti 68, Seacliff 56. DUNEDIN CENTRE EXECUTIVE Last night’s meeting was presided over by Mr I). M. Pastier (president). Others present were Messrs Tonkin, Ledlic, Millin. Haig, Rowley, Allan, Sullivan, Todd, Henagban, Connor, Worthington, Scott, and M'Gregor. Mr I). M. Fastier was specially thanked for his services as president during the visit of the Victorian players. in accepting the thanks, the president said that he was greatly helped by many willing assistants. Thanks were also given to Dunedin and Caledonian Clubs and to various motor owners in the same connection.
It was resolved to send the centre’s official thanks to Mr H. Beggo, a member of the recent Victorian' party, for his gift of four miniature golden bowls for competition in the champion rinks match. It was announced that cable advice had been received from the South Australian Bowling Association that a, party consisting of eight married couples, one single woman, and twelve men would arrive at Auckland on the 28th inst. to tour the dominion, and would return from Wellington on March 30. The itinerary proposed by the Dominion Council arranged for the visitors to play in Dunedin on Tuesday, March 27.—Decided that Roslyn green be utilised for the match, and a sub-commit-tee. consisting of Messrs Todd, Allan, Sullivan, and Millin was set up to make arrangements. A further request from the Otago Cricket Association that next Saturday’s bowling matches be postponed was discussed, but it was resolved by a large majority that the programme be adhered to. The match against North Otago, eight rinks a side, was fixed for March 24._ It was resolved to play the Champion of Champions competition and _ the Four-rink final on March 2 and 3 on .Dunedin Club green. Mr J. C. Whitelaw was appointed umpire for these matches.
Christchurch Centro wrote proposing that the match between Christchurch and Dunedin for the Bedpath Shield should be played on 'Thursday, February 23.—Unsolved to accept suggested date, the game to be played on Boslyn green. The date suggested by Southland Centre for the Harraway Shield match, March 1, was approved. Mr J. L. Davidson, secretary of Central Otago Centre, acknowledged invitation to send a team to Dunedin. It would take some time to get into touch with all the clubs and to get replies. North Otago Centre wrote nominating Messrs T. A. Wright, D. R. Corson, G. A. Mitchell, and A. Slater as a rink representing them in the Otago team against Canterbury.
