ARTHUR BARNETT PICNIC
On Saturday the annual picnic of the employees of Messrs Arthur Barnett, Ltd., was held at Brighton. The day was spent at games on the sports ground, boating on the river, and other amusements common to picnics. The following are the results of the competitions held:—

Girls’ Race (14 to 16 years).—Mollie Beard 1, Louie Brown 2. Boys’ Race (11 to 13 .years).—Verden Wright 1, Morris Garthwaite 2. Apprentices’ Race (boys).—S. Casey 1, R. Mandorson 2. Apprentices’ Race (girls).—Miss M'Kinnon 1, Miss Waterson 2. Cigarette Race.—Miss M'Nay and Vintiner 1, Miss Anderson and Brown 2. Barnett’s Handicap (men). —CTracey 1, R. Graham 2. Barnett’s Handicap (ladies). —Miss M'Kinnon 1, Miss Townrow 2, Miss Mackie 3.
Visitors’ Race (men).—A. Lawn 1, F. Cornier 2.
Lady Visitors' Race.—Miss Casey 1, Miss Beard 2, Miss Mackay 3. Relay Race.—Misses Adams, Anderson, Davis, and Pollok 1. Married Ladies’ Race.—Mrs Fox 1, Mrs Mackay 2. Three-legged race.—Miss Adams and Wix 1, Miss Miller and A. Lawn 2. Married Men’s Race.—Pollok 1, J. Barnett 2.
Men’s Tug-of-war.—Davis, Ferguson, Devenham, Devlin, Daly, S. Wood, Rose.
Ladies’ Tug-of-war.—Misses Garthwaite, Adams, Anderson, M'Kinnon, Merrie, Miller, Jamieson.
