“ J3.S.”—(l) Try removing the mildew spots from your cream fuji silk by rubbing in a, paste of lemon juice and powdered chalk, and laying it in the sun. Keep it constantly moist till the spots have gone. If the stains are too far advanced, steep the silk in a very weak solution of chloride of lime and quickly rinse in plenty of cold water. Possibly chemists have now special preparations. (2) There is no cure for freckles, but you can do much to prevent them comiii" by keeping out of the strong sunshine or using a sunshade. A good lotion for these is made as follows;—Strain the juice of two lemons iu a bottle, adtj, two ounces alcohol, one ounce of rosewater. Shake well; apply with a soft cloth, and when dry smear with cold cream, (if) Superfluous hairs cannot he removed permanently. _ There are plenty of temporary mixtures on the market, hut electrolysis is really the best cure, though you say this has not been successful with you. You might consult a toilet specialist tor advice. “ Raffia.”—( I ) Try removing the tar stain from your crepe de chine by sponging gently with alcohol or turpentine and then with benzine, llcgin to work about one inch away .from the stain, otherwise an ugly mark may he loft. If this is not successful, try rubbing carefully with eucalyptus oil. (2) Your white raffia hag will probably clean quite well with salt and water. Do not use strong soap or soda, as this tends to turn raffia yellow.
